Process Taking Action

The first steps I took to create the product were creating designs, and getting the materials. I arrange to take old sample from a company which would have otherwise been donated or thrown away. I did not require to many materials, 3 jeans, and a skirt. I also used recycled tread and a sewing machine. I measured out the materials and created design accordingly. Lastly I sewing my products and took pictures. One of my main obstacles is that my sewing machine keeps breaking because of the thickness of the fabric so some of the sewing was done my hand. Overall I did not change to much and I learned about what happens to our cloths when we throw them out as well as time management skills

Process Planning

Initially I wanted to look at the stock market or what impacts medicine has on our daily lives but I ended up pick circular economy because it is something which effects and will effect us in the future greatly. As I am looking at circular economy I chose sustainability as my global context. To research properly I used different types of sources caring from books to websites to interviews. Interviews were the most helpful as they gave more insight than books and websites. Corona was one of the problems which I encountered as I was set to visit a couple places in which cloths are produced as well as places which recycle cloths. It would have been really cool to see them as they would have been a first hand account of what really happens to our cloths after we throw them away. Originally I wanted to create two tops and 1 pair of jeans. However I changed this as to be able to properly recycle the cloths they would have had to have been over 98% cotton which is pretty stiff. It would have been hard to create a good quality top out of it without needing extra materials which would have been wasteful. Instead I created a big which I am happy I did.
